I came over here with nothing. I bought the restaurant and that was all I had, so it had to work. My name is Vincent Yeo Lim, I'm a content creator, chef, and restaurant owner. My dad was a chef as well, he passed away in 2017, so being on TikTok, like it really helps because every recipe that he's ever taught me, I'm able to document all that.
This was the restaurant that I started initially, this little Chinese restaurant in the middle of nowhere. It was very, very difficult to run at the start. I was marketing locally - flyers and stuff like that, but when I hopped on to TikTok, everything really changed. Wok cooking is very fast paced. I'm able to capture that and it just works really well.
After the restaurant, I decided to open a food truck. I didn't do any other form of marketing. On the first day of opening, we had a six hour line. Yeah.
In order for people to try your food, they have to know about it, because I think the food does the talking, right?
At the rate that I grew, you know, as a person, as a creator, as a business owner, without TikTok - it would have been impossible.
